What other approaches do we have for slowing cell death?

Well we know that a number of the diseases there seems to be a problem with the energy power cells of our brain cells. These are the mitochondria. So within the cells of the brain there are little parts of them that produce all the energy. Now, we can see that across a number of our diseases, there seems to be a role for giving more energy to try and help the cell to cure itself. So targeting the mitochondria using drugs perhaps, that might improve the function, is something that people are researching very actively across all of the degenerative diseases in the brain.
