In this insightful and wide-ranging conversation, Professor Simon Lewis,  Clinical Lead of the Australian Parkinson’s Mission, sits down with leading Movement Disorders Specialist Professor Stephen Tisch to explore the evolving landscape of Parkinson’s disease treatment and research.  Professor Stephen Tisch Head of Neurology at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and an internationally trained expert in advanced therapies for Parkinson’s disease, including deep brain stimulation (DBS) . With training spanning leading centres such as the Mayo Clinic, the National Hospital for Neurology in London, l’hopital Salpetriere Paris and a PhD focused on DBS, he offers a uniquely comprehensive perspective on both the science and clinical application of modern Parkinson’s treatments.  The interview covers aspects of symptomatic treatment for Parkinson’s Disease including the role of Deep Brain Stimulation and exercise, as well as Prof Tisch’s strong belief in the need for disease modifying trials and how grateful we are to the altruistic patients who participate in them.
